UFO Slice

Rarely do researchers get thanked for debunking a UFO sighting captured on video. Often they get a reply that's condescending like, "Well, I know What I Saw, Regardless of What The Video Says". This kind of denial hurts only 1 entity, UFOlogy.

Why do we want to believe so badly that hard evidence proving a UFO was a hoax is denied? Not only hoaxes but natural phenomenons and scientific data can't change one's mind when the debunking is done correctly. Why go to such lengths to fool yourself? The psychology of human nature and critical thinking go head to head for no reason but one's wish that aliens are real.
